The NAPB was formed in 2013 to drive up high standards in the ‘quick sale’ industry. Members of the NAPB are a diverse group of companies from across the UK. The Association helps to ensure members maintain high standards and is also a valuable resource for property owners, wondering whether to take the next step to sell. Each member must adhere to the Code of Practice. The NAPB represents some of the largest property professional buyers in the country. The quick sale property market has become a popular method to sell a house efficiently and is a good solution to clients who require the service.
In this instalment of the ‘Meet the Buyer’ we’re meeting Geoff Porton of Need a Fast Home Sale. You can find out more about them and all of our members at www.napb.co.uk/members
Who are you, what’s your background?
My names Geoff and I formed the company 15 years ago. I have bought and sold hundreds of properties in that time. My specialty is buying any type of property, in any condition or situation, in a timeframe that meets the vendors requirements, if they want completion in under a week or for me to fall in line with their onward purchase either is fine and is easily achievable as I only buy using my own funds.
Where is your company based?
Where do you purchase property?
Anywhere in UK.
What are your company’s core values?
To provide an honest property buying service that ensures all vendors requirements are met. If they want a fast sale, I can complete it in under a week. Only last week I completed on a purchase 4 days after my offer was accepted. If they’re selling a deceased relatives property and find it hard to clear the property I offer a service whereby I say, take your relatives personal effects and anything that you’d like to keep and leave the rest, we’ll deal with everything and we don’t charge for this service.
What are the company’s biggest challenges?
Finding enough properties to buy.
What’s the key to running a successful property business?
Organisation and the right team of people around you.
Where do you see the Professional Property Buyer industry going?
I envisage it getting busy in the next 1 -2 years where people may be unable to sell in the traditional way via estate agents so need an alternative way to sell their home
What’s the most unusual property you have bought?
All the properties I buy are fairly normal but situations involving a property include property subsidence, extensions coming away from the main house and problem tenants.
Thank you Geoff for your time!
