What kind of clients do you work for?
The Part Exchange & Group Clients Division of Spicerhaart work with a wide range of clients. These include individual investors, property disposal companies, quick purchase specialists ranging from the smallest to a number of the leading larger household names that operate in this arena. The team also acts for builders and developers again, ranging from small regional builders to a number of the major PLCs facilitating part exchange & assisted move packages.
What sets Spicerhaart apart from other asset management companies, what’s your USP?
We were one of the first (if not the first) asset managers to set up a specialist “Quick Purchase” team to deal solely with this area of the business some 10 years ago. Much of our process and services including our bespoke SP2 RICS reports have been introduced and tailored to our clients’ needs in consultation with our clients. In the early days, the team worked within our main corporate clients’ division in Blackpool but has since expanded greatly. Now, we work from a separate office near Sheffield and deal only with these types of clients. The QP team was originally set up by myself and to this day I still have responsibility for overseeing the Division.
What marketing strategies bring your clients to you?
We tend not to advertise a great deal as the majority of our clients tend to be longstanding or come to us via recommendation. Having said that you will see articles and other updates from us on LinkedIn and other social media from time to time.
Which service is most in demand among your clients?
We’re pretty busy across the board but with NAPB members probably our managed multi-agency property disposal service, agent appraisals, and RICS reports. On the developer side assisted move is proving very popular along with our part exchange property sale offering.
What’s the service you offer that most people are surprised to learn about?
I’m not sure there’s any particular one service but new clients do tend to be surprised at the range. We strive to offer a solution for every client be that auctions, simple desktops, RICS reports, sales, progression, contractor services, or anything else. We can even arrange to change the kitchen sink if required!
What role does customer feedback play in your business?
Customer feedback is really important to us. Hands up, we don’t always get it right but if we don’t you can be assured that we act on any feedback we receive. Thankfully this is a fairly rare occurrence and most of our feedback as can be seen from our brochure testimonials is pretty positive!
Do you have any plans to expand the services you offer?
The Division has substantially expanded in recent years and as above now operates from purpose-built offices which are a far cry from the attic rooms of a few years ago! If clients have a specific need we’re always happy to have a conversation to see if we can facilitate this.
Have you ever uncovered anything bizarre or illegal in any of the properties?
Couldn’t possibly comment – but yes!
Thank you Neil for your time!
