When the NAPB was founded, our goal was to raise the standards within quick-buying companies, as the sector lacked regulation. We believed that by encouraging these businesses to regulate themselves, it would lead to better outcomes for customers and strengthen the industry overall. Since then, the organisation has worked to promote transparency and fairness across the market. We have also aimed to give sellers greater confidence when dealing with property-buying firms. Every year, new companies continue to join the NAPB, further expanding our shared commitment to ethical practice, and today we meet Peter Thompson of ClozeSure

Who are you, and what’s your background?peter thompson

I’m Peter Thompson, the founder and CEO of ClozeSure. This business was started because of a real-life experience – when my sister’s buyer failed to complete after exchanging contracts. Having spent much of my career managing financial risk, as well as having personally sold and simultaneously bought properties a number of times, I am well aware of the stress and financial exposure felt – by many – during these transactions.

I was therefore motivated to find a way to safeguard against the one thing beyond everyone’s control – their buyer failing to complete. And in so doing, to make the process of selling a property a little less stressful, more certain, and with less financial risk.

Where is your company based?

We’re based in Central London (Shelton St)

Where do you purchase property?

Throughout England and Wales.

What are your company’s core values?

To take the stress out of selling a home by offering certainty and peace of mind.

Integrity, understanding, transparency, supportiveness, can do and acting fast.

What are the company’s biggest challenges?

Anything new to the market is a challenge, which we relish.

What’s the most unusual property you have bought?

Too early to say.

What’s the key to running a successful property business?

Do exactly what it says on the tin. Understanding you customer needs and wishes, then delivering on your word.

Where do you see the Professional Property Buyer industry going?

Its definitely gaining momentum, especially given the length of time it takes to sell a property nowadays.
